(english version below)

Bien, enfin, ballon d’or ou disque d’or?

Toujours ballon d’or !

English version :

Always with the aim of making you discover players with atypical experiences, we head to Iceland where it is not uncommon for some players to have a double career, like Hannes Halldórsson, the goalkeeper of the national selection who is also a director…

We were thus able to discuss with Logi Tómasson who shares his life between football and music… with all the same a penchant for football !
We came back with him on his career and his ambitions in club, and his career in music. And as a bonus some questions shifted between football and music.

So first of all, can you present yourself ?

My name is Logi Tómasson and I’m 19 years old and I play for Vikingur Reykjavík but I’m on loan in FH for the summer. My hobby is music and I go by the name Luigi.

I won the Cup in Iceland last year and also gave an album, my second album is out now.

And did you practice other sports when you were younger ?

Yes I also played golf and handball.

So when did you begin to play football ? And begin in the music ?

I started to play when I was 3 years old and in the music for 2 years.

And how did it feel to leave Vikingur for a direct competitor, the FH ?

Just good fun to try something else.

But this year you haven’t a lot of playing time, do you think you will have more playing time thanks to the chaining of matches ?

Yes definitely I hope I will play more after, we start tomorrow again.

And as for the team, are you aiming for the title thanks to the very good recruitement ? And will you try to reach the group stages of the Europa League, under these exceptional circumstances ?

Yes of course that’s the goal to win title and try to get as far as possible.

And in national team, you had 2 selections with the U17. Is it a goal for you to play with the U21, in 2020 or in 2021 ?

Yes of course that’s the goal always.

And which player has inspired you when you were young ? And now ?

Not any specific. But now probably Robertson.

In which country, which league would you play later and who is your favorite team ?

The dream is England and my favorite team is Manchester United.

So if you receive an offer from another country, you accept it or you stay in Iceland to continue in the music ?

I would definitely go out and play.

So which is the best player with who you played and who has been your best opponent ?

Probably the best Kári Árnason and opponent Óskar Örn Hauksson.

And what are your qualities and defaults / points to improve (on the pitch) according to you ?

My qualities are my left foot and attacking. My weakness is the defence because I have only played left-back for two years.

So now let’s talk about music… We know some Pepsideild’s players have another job so is music necessary for you to support yourself or is it just for fun, or both ?

No it’s not necessary, it’s just started for fun and then a lot of people started to listen so I made another album and now a lot of people know me in Iceland for my music.

Is it complicated for you to manage football and music ?

Sometimes but I just have more focus on football so I make music in the free time.

And was there an event as strong as the Cup victory with Vikingur in the music ?

No the Cup is the best night I have ever had.

And where does your stage name « Luigi » come from ?

Just from the guys in the football team.

And if you had to introduce readers to one of your songs, which would it be ? Personally, I like « Akureyri », « Samstarf », « Solo » and « Fótbolta stelpa »

Yes probably Fótbolta stelpa and Pulla upp.

I’ll ask you some little questions on football / music… So did you prefer play against Jón Jónsson (you played a bit against him in 2017) or make a featuring (Fótbolta stelpa) with him ?

Hahah better to make a featuring with him.

And would you prefer play with Guðmundur Þórarinsson or make a featuring with him, because we know he’s making music too ?

Hahah probably play with him.

And would you prefer to play with your favorite French player (who is it ?) or with your favorite French singer (if you have one, who is it?) ?

I would prefer play with Pogba.

And would you prefer to represent Iceland at the World Cup or Eurovision Song Contest ?

Hahah Iceland in football.

Finally, golden ball or golden record ?

Always golden ball !
