1. Vous pouvez vous présenter en quelques lignes pour nos lecteurs ?
Finn Meinel : Je suis marié à Laila Fleischer Meinel, la première femme Groenlandaise à devenir une pilote d’hélicoptère. Nous avons un fils, Scott Fleischer Meinel, qui joue en U15 dans les équipes de football et de futsal du B-67.
Je suis membre des conseils d’administrations suivants :
A. Vice-président du club de football et de futsal du B-67
B. Vice-président de la Fédération Sportive Groenlandaise (http://www.gif.gl)
C. Vice-président de l’organisation Groenlandaise de football (www.kak.gl)

Je co-organise un trail, le Nuuk Mountain Challenge qui a lieu tous les ans. J’arrange aussi un mois d’activité annuel dans Nuuk, « Maaji Nuan » (« Mai Merveilleux »).
Je suis l’entraîneur des équipes U15 de football, de futsal du B-67 et un consul honoraire pour la Corée du Sud au Groenland.
Dans mon temps libre je cours dans les montagnes et je fais un peu d’alpinisme.
2. Vous pouvez nous présenter le football au Groenland en quelques mots ?
Finn: Le football au Groenland se développe vite ces dernières années. Le fait de jouer en intérieur est dû au fait que l’Élite Sport Groenland, il y a quelques années, s’est approché de KAK (équipe nationale et fédération de football sur herbe) et a proposé que le sport principal d’intérieur devrait être le futsal. Avant cela la KAK n’avait jamais géré le futsal. Le Groenland Elite Sport a été enclin à apporter quelques fonds à ce projet. La KAK a accepté et maintenant le futsal est joué partout au Groenland dans tous les âges. En raison de l’accent futsal les joueurs obtiennent un niveau technique considérable.
En plein air le football prospère maintenant, beaucoup de terrains artificiels sont mis en place au lieu des vieux terrains de gravier. Ceci conduit un développement rapide dans notre football extérieur. Les joueurs jouent au futsal en hiver, ce qui améliore leur technique.
Tout compte fait, c’est mon avis, mais je pense que le Groenland deviendra dans les années à venir beaucoup mieux tant au niveau futsal que dans le football.

3. Comment est l’atmosphère autour des terrains ?
Finn: Pendant les tournois de futsal c’est très intense avec le soutien, très bruyant, des supporters. Aussi dans extérieur nous avons une bonne ambiance et un bon suivi des supporters pour leurs équipes.
4. Pour vous qui êtes le meilleur joueur au Groenland ?
Finn: Ari Hermann de B-67 est mon choix au futsal et au football, c’est un attaquant habile et doué techniquement avec une grosse débauche de travail. Un joueur qui est prometteur, c’est Rene Eriksen Petersen qui a 17 ans et qui a impressionné chez les seniors en équipe nationale lors de la NordicFutsal Cup au Danemark en 2018.
5. Entrer dans la FIFA est votre objectif ? Pensez-vous y arriver ? Si oui, d’ici combien de temps ?
Finn: Nous sommes dans la KAK, une nation voulant devenir membre de la FIFA. Nous pensons que nous nous sommes déjà bien adaptés au niveau FIFA futsal et dans l’avenir peut-être aussi pour le football extérieur.
6. Comme le président d’un club amateur à la recherche de la professionnalisation, quel est votre rôle?
Finn: Je suis le vice-président du conseil d’administration dans B-67. Ensemble avec principalement Mogens Nathansen, qui est la base de notre club, nous sommes responsables des opérations quotidiennes du club et sommes responsables du travail stratégique etc.
7. En Islande, ils ont installé des terrains de football sur herbe synthétiques mais en salle, cette idée est-elle occupé de se développer chez vous?
Finn: Nous espérons avoir un terrain de football intérieur de grande taille dans Nuuk. Il n’y a cependant aucun plan spécifique encore.
8. La majeure partie de vos joueurs lie le football extérieur avec le futsal, pensez-vous qu’il y a un frein dans leur développement sur le sol extérieur?
Finn: J’estime que futsal aide le développement pour les joueurs extérieurs, donc je ne le vois pas comme un problème.
9. Il est difficile de s’informer de vos clubs, votre équipe nationale via Internet, vous développez à l’international n’est pas dans vos plans?
Finn: Nous travaillons pour mieux communiquer par Internet et par d’autres médias.
10. Vous avez un modèle d’un club, un entraîneur, une façon de voir les choses en Europe?
Finn: Le club ne prend aucun modèle des équipes européennes.

2. You can present us the football in Greenland in a few words?
The football in Greenland is developing fast these years. Indoor it is due to the fact that Elite Sport Greenland some years ago approached KAK and proposed that the indoor focus should be on futsal. Prior to that KAK never played futsal. Elite sport Greenland were willing to bring some funds to that project. KAK agreed, and now futsal is played everywhere in Greenland in all ages. Due to the focus on futsal the players technical level have increased considerably.
Outdoors football is now thriving, as there has been established many artificial pitches instead of the old gravel pitches. This is driving a fast development in our outdoor football. The outdoors player, usually play futsal in winter, which makes their technique much better.
All in all it is my opinion the Greenland in the coming years will become much better in both futsal and football.

3. How is the atmosphere around the ground?
During the futsal-tournaments indoor it is very intense with very vocal backing of the teams. Also in outdoor we have good atmosphere and good support for the teams.
4. For you who is the best player in Greenland?
Ari Hermann from B-67 is my choice in futsal and football he is a technical skilled and gifted attacker with a high work rate. An up and coming player is Rene Eriksen Petersen who is 17 years old and impressed for the senior Greenland National Team in the futsal Nordic Cup in Denmark in 2018.
5. Go into FIFA be a member of your objectives? Think of arriving you there? If yes, from here how long for you?
We are in KAK working on becoming a member of FIFA. It is our opinion that we already now would fit very well into the FIFA futsal family, and in the future perhaps also outdoor football.
6. As president of an amateur club in search of the professionalization, which is your role?
I am vice chairman of the board of directors in B-67. Together with mainly Mogens Nathansen, who is the backbone of our club, we are in charge of the day to day operations of the club, and are responsible for strategic work etc.
7. In Iceland, they settled the climatic concerns with internal grounds, it is an idea to develop at your home?
We hope to have an inside full sized football field in Nuuk. There is however no specific plans for one yet.
8. Most of your players bind the outside football with the soccer in room, do you think that it is one more or a brake in their development on outside ground?
I feel that futsal is helping the development for the outdoor players, so I do not see this as a problem.
9. It’s difficult to inquire about your clubs, your national team via internet, you develop on the international stage is not in your plans?
We are working on becoming better to communicate through the internet, and through other media.
10. You have a model of a club, a trainer, a way of seeing things soccerly in Europe?
The club is not in that way connected to any European clubs.
